The Power
Feed Hand Planer is a unique new development in woodworking tools.
It is an electric wood planer that moves along the workpiece under
its own power.
Actually, it is a unique modification of the conventional 12"
portable hand planer. While the 12" power hand planers are
serving the timber shops well for certain jobs, they fall short
of higher volume production.
The larger floor model planers are good for production, but they
need large work areas and back up equipment for moving the timbers
through the machine.
We have been
using earlier versions of the power feed hand planer since 1995 for
our timber frames that we send all over the country, and we average
a savings of $1000 for each frame that we do so we clearly see the
financial savings of these easy to use planers.
Saw mills can add value
to their post and beam products by offering planed beams to their
customers, in fact other mills in our area hire us to plane their
timbers if the order is to small to truck to the planer mill.
The planer weighs a little over 50 lbs. and is powered by a Delta
15 amp 120 volt a.c. motor and uses 2 quick change double edged planer
blades that can be flipped over when they get dull. Also The planer
can plane up to 12.5 inches wide and lengths as long as you can get.
